Brazil Cup second games shake up a decisive week

By Gustavo Castilho

Soon Internacional will host Atlético-GO, while Cuiabá will face Botafogo.

Once again, it is time to put the Brazilian Championship aside and change the focus. Two games stir up this Tuesday night for the Brazil Cup. Trying to shake off the crisis, Botafogo goes to Mato Grosso to face Cuiabá, at 7:30 pm, Brasília time. A draw classifies the home team, which won the first match in Rio by 1 to 0. A victory by the minimal difference takes the decision to penalties. For the Glorious Botafogo to advance, they need to win the match by two or more goals difference.

Later, at 9:30 pm, Brasília time, it’s Internacional’s turn to host Atlético-GO, in Porto Alegre. In the first game, Colorado got the upper hand and won by 2×1, now a tie is enough to qualify for the next stage. Atletico has to win by two or more goals difference to advance. If they win by just one goal, the dispute will go to penalties.

Tomorrow is Flamengo’s turn to host Athletico-PR, at Maracanã. Ceará and Santos also play in Fortaleza, and América-MG face Corinthians in Belo Horizonte. Thursday the ball rolls for two more games. Grêmio goes to Serra Gaúcha to face Juventude, and Palmeiras receives RB Bragantino, at Allianz arena.
