Internacional and Boca decide the last spot for the quarterfinals.  While Grêmio and Santos meet again at the decisive stage of the competition.

It is not the first time that Grêmio and Santos face each other in the knockout stages of America’s Libertadores.  In 2007, the two teams met in the semifinals of the competition with the Gaucho team leading the way.  In the decision the team faced Boca Junior and ended up leaving with the vice-championship.

For the next game, at 7:15 pm, Brasília time, in Porto Alegre, Grêmio counts on the return of the titleholders Kannemann and Jean Pyerre.  Alisson and Paulo Miranda are out due to injury.  At Santos, Vladimir (recovering from surgery), Renyer (in transition), Raniel (physical work) and Arhtur Gomes (Covid-19), are the absences of coach Cuca.  Both teams are having a good time and have top scorers.  In Grêmio, Diego Souza and Pepê are hopes of goals, in Santos, striker Marinho is the name of the team.

Still in a game valid for the round of 16, Inter faces Boca Junior, in Argentina, at 21:30, Brasília time, for the return game.  In Porto Alegre, the Argentines won and won 1 to 0. To qualify, Internacional must win by two or more goals difference.  If you win by the minimum score (2 to 1, 3 to 2, onwards) you also advance to face Racing (ARG).  Colorado’s 1-0 win leads to a spot on penalties.  The team has the return of coach Abel Braga who was away by Covid-19.  They are still out in the medical department: Johnny, Boschilia, Saravia and Paolo Guerrero Boca Junior are going full strength for the duel.
