Palmeiras and Santos make final Libertadores Cup

Classic from São Paulo will decide the champion of America, at Maracanã

The great day has come.  In a little while, at 17h, Brasília time, the ball will roll, in Maracanã, for the very final of the Copa Libertadores.  Palmeiras and Santos go in search of the most coveted trophy in America.  Palmeiras tries for the second championship, since it has an achievement (1999), while Santos seeks the fourth championship.  The village team may become the Brazilian with the greatest number of conquests for the Libertadores (1962, 1963 and 2011).

Both teams are going full strength for one of the most important games in the history of both clubs.  Palmeiras has two players in the medical department: Lucas Silva and Wesley, who are recovering from surgery on their left knee.  At Santos, Raniel, Jobson and Sánchez are injured and will not play in the final either

Palmeiras arrives in the decision after eliminating Delfin (EQU), Libertad (PAR) and River Plate (ARG), while Santos removed LDU (EQU), Grêmio and Boca Junior (ARG)

This is the third time in the history of the competition that the final is played by two Brazilian clubs.  In 2005, São Paulo were champions over Ahtletico-PR and the following year the decision was reached again, this time losing the title to Internacional.
