Egyptian team faces Bayern while Mexicans take on Palmeiras

Despite their poor performance, Tigres managed to beat Ulsan 2-1 and will be the opponent of Palmeiras in the semi final.  The Mexicans followed after Kee-Hee Kim opened the scoring for the Koreans.  But Gignac (twice) stamped the South Koreans’ net and put Tigers into the next phase of the tournament.  In fact, it was his 400th goal in the history of the Club World Cup.  The French striker was elected as the star of the game.  In his last 13 matches, he has scored 12 times.  The match between Tigres and Palmeiras will take place next Sunday, at 3 pm, Brasília time, at the Education City Stadium, in Doha.

In the other semifinal, Al Duhail received Al Ahly and took the worst.  The home team even tried, but El Shahat’s goal, in the first half, was enough to guarantee the Egyptians’ victory.  This is the African club’s sixth participation in the tournament and the third time the team has made it to the semifinals.  The team will now face Bayern Munich, next Monday (08/02), at 15h, Brasília time.
