Brazilians and Egyptians face each other with an eye on the 2.5 million dollar prize

From here the ball, at 12h, Brasília time, the ball will roll in the Cidade da Educação Stadium for a match between Palmeiras and Al Ahly, from Egypt.  The dispute for the third concludes the teams’ participation in the FIFA Club World Cup, in Qatar.

At Palmeiras, coach Abel Ferreira promised changes, but did not reveal which team he will take to the dispute.  The physical issue will be taken into account, as the team has passed 70 games throughout the 2020 season. Willian may be the novelty among the starters, since the player was one of the few who had a good performance in the duel against Bayern.  Gabriel Veron is out due to injury.  Wesley, Breno Lopes, Gabriel Silva and Renan were not registered.

Al Ahly seeks to repeat the best campaign in a Club World Cup.  In 2006, when they were eliminated by Internacional in the semifinals, the Egyptian team finished in third place by beating América-MEX by 2 to 1, with two goals from the legend Aboutrika, who must be at the City of Education stadium to watch the match  and support the team.

In addition to the idol, the team can also count on the support of the fans, due to the large presence of Egyptian immigrants in Qatar.  Fans will not be able to support the important duo Mahmoud Kahraba and Hussein El Shahat, who ended up suspended by FIFA after greeting Aboutrika in the stands and breaking the tournament’s Covid-19 protocol.

The top four finishers receive a FIFA financial award.  The champion, in addition to the trophy, wins 5 million dollars, while the vice winner receives 4 million dollars.  Third place pockets $ 2.5 million, while fourth takes $ 2 million home.
