Top scorer reaches incredible mark of 18 goals in 13 Champions League games

Borussia Dortmund started in the first game against Sevilla in the Champions League round of 16, in a 3-2 win led by Haaland, who rocked the net twice.  The striker reached eight goals in this edition of the tournament, leaving Neymar, Rashford and Morata behind, with six goals each.  In addition, the Norwegian, just 20 years old, reached 18 goals scored in 13 games played.  As a comparison, Cristiano Ronaldo needed 54 games to reach the mark.  Messi, 35.

Sevilla took the lead with Suso, in the first submission.  The ball still deflected in defender Hummels.  But Borussia was unmoved and went up.  Still in the first half, Dahoud equalized with a beautiful goal, and Haaland (twice) extended.  In the second half, the German team slowed down and saw their advantage diminish with De Jong, after a set piece.

The away win gave the Germans a good advantage.  In the return match, scheduled for March 9, in Germany, Borussia advances even with defeat by 1 to 0 or 2 to 1. Sevilla needs to win by two goals difference, or by one, as long as they score four or  more times.
