Friendly tournament to be held in the USA, will serve as an Olympic preparatory

In search of the dream of Olympic gold, the Brazilian women’s team begins the season of friendly matches.  Soon, at 18h, Brasília time, the girls commanded by the technique Pia Sundhage, enter the field to face Argentina.  The quadrangular held in Orlando, in the United States, still counts on the presence of the hostesses and the selection of Canada.  All games will be played at Exploria Stadium.

Brazil will face teams with different characteristics throughout the She Believes Tournament, including the current world champions, the United States.  The duels will be played in the FIFA Date period, between the 15th and 24th of February.

The last time that Brazil and Argentina faced each other was in the International Tournament of São Paulo, in June of 2019. The match marked the debut of the technician Pia Sundhage in command of the feminine selection.  On that occasion, Brazil took the best and won by 5 to 0. Since then, the technique has added 13 games, with eight wins, four draws and one defeat.

One of the novelties in Pia Sundhage’s call is the 19-year-old Ivana Fuso.  The player has multiple nationalities, being Brazilian, Italian and German.  She joins Giovanna Queiroz, another young talent who has the possibility to choose the team she wants to defend.

Following the She Believes Tournament, Brazil will face the United States, on February 21, at 5 pm, Brasília time.  The team will close their participation in the competition against Canada, on February 24, with a duel scheduled for 18:00, Brasília time.
