Flamengo or Internacional, who takes the Brasileirão?

By Gustavo Castilho

Red black only depends on you while Colorado needs to win and hope for a rival stumble

Since the beginning of the race points, we hadn’t had a last round as balanced as in this edition of the 2020 Brazilian Championship. Flamengo took the lead of the competition for the first time after beating Internacional itself and now it only depends on you to raise the eighth Brasileirão in history,  while the gauchos try to take the trophy back to Porto Alegre, something that hasn’t happened since 1979. The red face faces São Paulo, in Morumbi, at 21:30, Brasília time.  At the same time, Internacional receives Corinthians, in Beira Rio.

Diego Alves (right thigh injury) and Willian Arão (toe fracture) were related, but the tendency is to stay out of the team.  Ceni chose to list for the trip everyone who had a minimal chance of playing, but the two athletes are still far from their best conditions.  The tendency is for the team to be the same team that won Internacional at Maracanã, with the presence of Rodrigo Caio, who recovered from ankle pain.

São Paulo still has reason to fight tonight.  The tricolor team needs the victory to win a direct spot in the group stage of Libertadores 2021 without having to root for a flounder from Fluminense.  The team is fourth in the Brazilian, with 63 points.  Reinaldo and Léo (suspended), Paulinho Boia, Liziero, Gonzalo Carneiro and Walce (injured) and Rojas (spared).

Inter does not have Moledo, Saravia and Boschilia, in recovery from surgery Rodinei is suspended for the red card received against Flamengo.  Corinthians will not have Fagner, diagnosed with a stretch in his right thigh, Gustavo Mosquito, with discomfort in his right knee, Danilo Avelar, who is recovering from surgery on his right knee, and Gustavo Mantuan, who is recovering from surgery on his left knee.  With only the South American guaranteed for next season, Vagner Mancini’s team will try to maintain tenth place in the table or reach ninth
