Team plays badly, is defeated by São Paulo, but has Internacional stumble

A dispute that went down in history.  Flamengo and Internacional starred in a chapter full of feelings on Thursday night.  In Morumbi, São Paulo tried to spoil the party of Rio.  The victory by 2 to 1 ensured the tricolor in the fourth place and gave the direct place to the group stage of the Libertadores.

Foul Luciano opened the scoring for São Paulo, in the last move of the first half, after the failure of goalkeeper Hugo Souza.  Back at the break, Bruno Henrique left everything the same.  Pablo put the tricolor back in front in another failure of the goalkeeper red black.  The game was going to the end and the eyes started to stay in the match between Internacional and Corinthians, who played in Beira Rio. A goal from Colorado already changed the course of the cup, but it didn’t come.

The tension took over.  Internacional had already had a goal canceled by an offside and a penalty cleared by VAR, which generated a lot of controversy.  The game at Morumbi had already ended and the precious minutes were in Porto Alegre.  Inter scored another goal, which again was canceled correctly.  With the 0 to 0 maintained, Flamengo can celebrate another national title.

For the first time in 38 years, he won the title in consecutive seasons.  Before this double, Rubro-negro had raised the Brazilian Championship cup in sequence in the years 1982 and 1983. This is the third time that a club has won the Brasileirão in consecutive years since the championship started to be played in the points format  run.  São Paulo (2006, 2007 and 2008) and Cruzeiro (2013 and 2014) also successfully defended their respective titles.
