Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach face off at UCL

English have good advantage since they won the first away game by 2 to 0

City and Borussia will face each other soon, at 17:00, Brasília time, at the Ferenc Puskás Arena, in Budapest, Hungary.  The departure will be in the country of Eastern Europe, due to the restrictions of locomotion between residents of the United Kingdom and Germany, due to Covid-19.

In the first game, also held in Hungary, but with Borussia leading the field, City won 2-0 and now have a good advantage.  To lose the spot, Guardiola’s team will need to be defeated by two goals and difference from 3 to 1 (2 to 0 takes the match to overtime and penalties).

Currently leader of the Premier League, City is going through a great moment.  In addition to the good advantage at UCL, the team will also play in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup next weekend against Everton, and is already in the English League Cup final with Tottenham.

For the duel, coach Pep Guardiola will promote the returns of Sterling, De Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan, saved in the victory over Fulham.

At a disadvantage, M’gladbach goes for all or nothing.  The team is not going through a good time and has not been able to win for eight games.  This has happened, coincidentally or not, since the announcement of Marco Rose’s replacement, who is due to go to Borussia Dortmund next season.  In addition, Germans have casualties today: Bensebaini, Kramer, Quizera and Musel are not expected to be available.

English and Germans played in seven games in history.  City won four wins, M’glabach one and the teams ended in a draw on two occasions.  The English managed to score 15 goals in these clashes, while the Germans scored eight goals.
