Manchester City beats PSG 2-1 and open up a good lead for the return game

English team leaves behind but manages to turn around. De Bruyne was elected star of the match

In the Parc des Princes, in Paris, PSG and Manchester City played an electrifying match. The hosts took the lead with Marquinhos, after Dí Maria’s corner kick. It seemed that the French were going to run over, due to the volume of play that Mauricio Pochettino’s team presented.

However, at the break, the game turned. De Bruyne drew to take advantage of the failure of goalkeeper Navas, and seven minutes later, Mahrez, for a foul, counted on the help of the barrier that opened and turned for City. Neymar and Mbappé had a discreet performance. Better for midfielder De Bruyne, who in addition to commanding the victory, also took the game’s star trophy.

With the victory, Pep Guardiola’s team took home a good advantage to try to reach the first Champions final in the history of the club. PSG was left with an uncomplicated task. In the return match, next Tuesday (4), in Manchester, the team will need to score at least two goals to advance to the final, since 1 to 0 would not be enough due to the criterion of goals scored away from home. The 2 to 1 repeating but favorable to the French, the confrontation goes to extra time and penalty, if necessary. Any other victory by a goal difference is favorable to the visitors.
