Brazilian women’s team faces Canada in the last test before the Olympic Games

This will be the fourth meeting with the Canadians since Pia took over Canarinho

Soon, the Brazilian women’s team takes the field to face Canada in the last test before the Olympic Games in Tokyo. This will be the fourth meeting with the Canadians since coach Pia Sundhage took over the selection. So far there are two victories for the Brazilian girls and a draw. The ball rolls at 4 pm (GMT), in Cartagena, Spain.

The Brazilian team will go to the field with two changes. Letícia Santos leaves the team for Erika’s entry in defense, with Bruna Benites (author of two goals in the victory against Russia) being moved to the right flank. With only 18 athletes going to Tokyo, Pia wants to test the players’ versatility. The other change is the departure of Formiga, who felt uncomfortable and will be preserved, for the entrance of Julia Bianchi.

The opponents the Brazilian national team has become accustomed to facing in recent years, Canada is coming off a disappointing goalless draw with the Czech Republic last Friday. The Canadians will also compete for Olympic gold and must use full strength in the last friendly before the trip to Japan.
