Brazilian women’s team is called up for preparatory games against Australia

List has a new feature. At 28, Karen, goalkeeper of Minas Brasília, gets her first chance with a hopscotch

Coach Pia Sundhage announced this Tuesday (5th) a list of the 23 athletes called up for the two preparatory games against Australia. The women’s team matches will be played in the FIFA Date period. The teams will face each other on two occasions, on the 23rd and 26th, at Commbank Stadium, in Sydney.

With the Copa America 2022 in sight, the coach’s list presented a novelty. The 28-year-old goalkeeper Karen, who works at Minas Brasília, won her first opportunity in the Brazilian goal. On the other hand, a call-up with the return of athletes summoned for the first time in the FIFA Data of September, are present in the goalkeeper Lorena, from Grêmio, as defenders Katrine and Thais, from Palmeiras, and Bruninha, from Santos.

After being cut from the Olympic Games roster by injury, midfielder Adriana is back in the women’s team after recovering from surgery on her left knee. Júlia Biachi, Bia Zaneratto and Giovana, athletes who were present in the Olympic campaign also include Rafaelle’s return.
