Brazilian Women’s Team debuts against India at the Manaus International Tournament, in a game that marks the farewell of Formiga

Chile and Venezuela are the other countries that also participate in the friendly competition

The Brazilian women’s team welcomes the Indian team for the first game of the International Women’s Football Tournament, in Manaus. The match takes place this Thursday (25th), at 10 pm (Brasilia time), at Arena Amazônia. In addition to the Brazilian and Indian teams, a friendly competition also includes the participation of Chile and Venezuela, which open the tournament at 7:00 pm (GMT). The competition marks the farewell of Formiga from the Brazilian team. At 43, the midfielder will end her performances for Brazil.

In all, it’s been 26 years wearing a hopscotch. In this interval, the midfielder had 151 wins, 35 draws, 47 defeats and 37 goals scored. The player has a great history within the sport. During a career, Formiga participated in all seven Olympic Games in the history of women’s football and in seven of the eight World Games played so far.

 The Tournament runs from November 25th to December 1st, it will also be the last official competition of the national team in 2021, and the last stage of preparation for the Copa America 2022. Pia Sundhage’s team takes advantage of the last FIFA date of 2021 to make it three more intense games and still dispute the cup of the competition on Brazilian soil. All games take place at the Arena da Amazônia. The champion team of the International Tournament will be the one with the most points after three games.
