Defeat leaves Caxias do Sul team in a complicated situation in the table
São Paulo is guaranteed in Serie A in 2022. This Monday night, at Morumbi, for the 37th round of the Brazilian Championship, Tricolor won Juventude 3-1 and is no longer at risk of relegation. The victory took São Paulo to 48 points and ensured the team a place in the next edition of the Copa Sudamericana.
On the other hand, with the defeat, Juventude is in serious danger of returning to Serie B next season. The team remained in 16th place, with 43 points, the same score as Bahia – the first team outside the relegation zone – but which has an advantage in the number of victories, having one more than Juventude (11 against 10). In this way, the team from Caxias do Sul goes to the last round, not needing to score and cheering against the Bahians.
