Now a draw is enough for alviverde to be state champion
Tocantinópolis beat Araguacema by 1-0, not duel in the first leg of the Tocantinense Championship, and they need a draw on the way back to get the cup. The match was held this Monday (27), at the Nilton Santos stadium, in Palmas. The only goal was scored by defensive midfielder Rômulo, in the first half. In disadvantage on the scoreboard, Araguacema need to win the return game, victory by a goal difference takes the decision to penalties. The second game is scheduled for this Thursday (30), at 15:30 (GMT), in Ribeirão, in Tocantinópolis.
The game started with Tocantinópolis taking the initiative, and with Araguacema taking advantage of the spaces to counterattack. The goal came after a corner kick. The ball was taken away by the defense and Hudson, on the other hand, gave great assistance to Raí, who crossed for Rômulo to complete and put Tocantinópolis in advantage, in the 25th minute. After the goal, Verdão started to defend itself, waiting for the opponent to counterattack. TEC also had a goal disallowed for offside, in the first half.
In the final stage, Tocantinópolis started to explore more the counterattacks, and saw the goalkeeper Evandrizio make great saves and avoid what could be the second goal. Araguacema came to pressure for a few moments, however, with many mistakes in the submission. TEC had another goal disallowed, this time for a foul on goalkeeper Evandrizio.
