Lukaku scores for the Blues in a 1-0 win over Al Hilal
Chelsea will be Palmeiras’ opponent in the 2021 Club World Cup final. The English team had a hard time this Wednesday, but managed to beat Al Hilal in the semi-final by 1-0, a goal by striker Lukaku in the 31st minute of the first half – left-back Al-Shahrani’s decisive failure – The tournament’s decision will be next Saturday, at 1:30 pm (GMT), again at the Mohammed Bin Zayed stadium.
Romelu Lukaku was five competitive games without scoring a goal for Chelsea. The last one had been on January 8, against Chesterfield, in the third round of the FA Cup. He has nine goals this up-and-down season in 26 appearances for the Blues.
Ten years after losing the final of the Cubes World Cup to Corinthians, the English team returns to dispute the decision of the tournament, and precisely against a Brazilian. Since the World Cup adopted its current format in 2005, there have been three Brazilian champions teams: São Paulo (2005), Internacional (2006) and Corinthians (2012). In all the others, the winner was a European.
