Tricolor now expects winner of the duel between Olimpia and Atlético Nacional
Flow once more. After beating Millonarios 2-1 away from home, Tricolor Carioca defeated the Colombian team again, this time 2-0, and stamped their passport to the third phase of the pre-Libertadores. Now Fluminense is waiting for the winner of the duel between Olimpia and Atlético Nacional to know who to face in the next round and, thus, try to go to the group stage.
In São Januário, since Maracanã is closed to change the pitch, the net only came to swing in the second half, after coach Abel Braga made changes to the team.
Luiz Henrique found Calegari, who crossed back and Cano finished with a cart. The ball exploded in the defense and was left clean for Willian to open the scoring. The crowd, who had already asked for Arias to join, didn’t expect to be so sure. This is because, in the 27th minute, two minutes after entering Cano’s spot, the Colombian received a beautiful assist from Yago and played with his pout on goalkeeper Montero’s exit to make it 2-0.
This was the 10th consecutive victory for Tricolor, the second longest streak in the club’s history.
