São Paulo and Palmeiras play for the 13th round of the Brasileirão

Verdão tries to isolate himself in the lead while tricolor seeks to reach the top of the table

Classic day in the Brazilian Championship. At Morumbi, São Paulo hosts Palmeiras for the 13th round of the Brasileirão. The ball will roll at 20:00 (Brasilia time).

Problems in the medical department worry the tricolor fans. In all, there are nine absences due to physical reasons, including defender Walce. The team clings to a long unbeaten run as home team (14 games) and faces precisely the only tormentor in home matches. Palmeiras won 1-0, at Morumbi, for the Paulistão group stage.

Packed by a streak of 11 unbeaten games in the Brasileirão and 18 in the season, Verdão seeks to extend its lead in the lead. There are 25 points in a campaign of seven wins, four draws and only one defeat. Without coach Abel Ferreira, with Covid-19, Verdão will also not be able to count on important names, such as Marcos Rocha, Raphael Veiga and Zé Rafael.

Why bet on Palmeiras?

The favoritism of Palmeiras in the x is curious if we take into account the last visit of Palestra in Morumbi: Verdão did not see the color of the ball and escaped a historic rout and lost ‘only’ by 3 to 1 – one of the two team defeats in normal time in 2022. As the teams face each other again in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil three days later, in the same Morumbi, Abel Ferreira should put on the field a more ‘speculative’ and reactive formation – focused on taking advantage of possible nervousness from the rival.

Why bet on São Paulo?

Like the Portuguese coach, the tendency is that Rogério Ceni will not risk too much in this Monday’s duel and save the great ‘trump cards’ for Thursday’s playoffs. The commander already suffers from the various casualties of the cast. If you lose any weight Ceni knows it can get complicated. Now, the coach has found a dominant style of play at home and will certainly attack Verdão at times – earning the nickname of second best home team in the competition.

The quotation for both São Paulo and Palmeiras to score during the 90 minutes of the match is 1.90 for “yes” and also 1.90 for “no”. A bet on a tie with goals pays 4.50. In equal without goals, 8.50.

Other more specific bets can also be placed. The odd that more than 10 corners will be scored is 2.00. Of which exactly 10 will be awarded by the referee, 8.00. For less than 10, it’s 2.20.

At bet365, the odds for a victory for São Paulo is 3.10, a draw 3.20 and a triumph for Palmeiras 2.37.
