With an eye on the advance classification, Brazil faces Switzerland for the second round

After winning over Serbia in their debut, the Brazilian team returns to the field this Monday, at 13:00 (Brasília time), to face Switzerland, at stadium 974, in Doha, Qatar, for the second round of the group stage of the World Cup.

This Monday’s game will be Brazil’s tenth against Switzerland. There were only two official matches, and the team did not win: the 2018 World Cup (1-1) and the 1950 World Cup (2-2).

Tite will have to make changes to the squad for today’s match. Right-back Danilo and striker Neymar suffered ankle sprains against Serbia and should only be available from the round of 16 onwards.

There are some possibilities for the coach to climb Brazil in the second round of the group stage. He made a mystery of it and closed the last training sessions, releasing only the warm-up activity on the eve of the game against Switzerland. The tendency is for Éder Militão to play improvised on the side in place of Danilo, and in the absence of Neymar, Fred should occupy the middle. Therefore, Paquetá would play more advanced, with Vinicius Jr, Raphinha and Richarlison completing the offensive quartet.

The lineup used by coach Murat Yakin in the debut must be maintained for the game against Brazil. Switzerland play with two lines of four to defend themselves and attack with two wide wingers – Vargas on the left and Shaqiri looser, free to float around the field. Embolo, in front, is the only attacker.

HUGE 1: BRAZIL WINNING IN THE FIRST TIME

A less risky prognosis for the match is for Brazil to win the first half of the match. In other words, that at the end of the first half, the momentary result of the game is favorable to the Brazilians.

Bookmakers are offering odds generally above 2.00 for the first half result market for Brazil. Despite not being a high compensation, the risk of this hunch is considerably lower.

Against Switzerland, in all the games played in history, Brazil never managed to score more than 2 goals in a single match. Many experts point out that things could be different in this match and some even expect a rout.

HUGE 2: BRAZIL SCORES FIRST

A very popular market for betting on World Cup 2022 Group G matches is who scores first. If we compare previous results in matches played between both teams, we find relatively similar results.

Both Brazil and Switzerland have already scored the first goal in matches played between the teams.

Even so, the Brazilian team is a favorite for this betting market in view of the recent results of both teams.

On the other hand, bookmakers offer considerably higher odds for a possible first Swiss goal. This means that betting on an eventual first goal for Switzerland is also an interesting option, albeit riskier.
