Manchester United host Charlton Athletic in the League Cup quarter-finals

Manchester United hosts Charlton Athletic at Old Trafford this Tuesday at 5pm (Brasília time), in a game valid for the quarter-finals of the English League Cup.

Owner of the house, United debuted in the competition in the third phase, where they eliminated Aston Villa by winning by 4 to 2. In the round of 16, the Red Devils beat Burnley by 2 to 0 and advanced to the next stage.

For the match later, Bruno Fernandes (suspended), Tuanzebe, Van de Beek (injured) and Sancho (physical recovery), are the absences of Manchester.

The modest Charlton Athletic, which plays in the English third division, eliminated Queens Park Rangers in the first phase, Wasall in the second, Stevenage and surprised by dispatching Brighton, a Premier League team, in the round of 16.

Jaiyesimi, Wollacott, Egbo (injured) and Clare (suspended) miss out.

Prognosis:

Handicap -2 Manchester United – Yes

Being a team with enormous tradition and being one of the elite of English football, we can bet on a -2 handicap against the Red Devils. It is also worth remembering that in the last four games between the teams, Manchester won all of them.

Both Teams To Score – No

Even though it’s an elimination match where the loser goes home, we shouldn’t see goals from both sides. In the last four clashes between Manchester United and Charlton, only one match saw goals from both teams.

Charlton to score a goal – No

Finally, as already mentioned, if we cannot expect goals from both sides, this is due to Charlton’s performance, which scored only in one game, in the last four matches against Manchester United.
