Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James needs 117 points to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the NBA‘s all-time regular-season scoring record (38,387 points).
James previously broke the record for most total points — regular season and playoffs — in February 2022, and on Jan. 16, he became just the second player in NBA history to score 38,000 career points.
James, who is averaging just over 30 points per game so far this season, is projected to break the record in the next four to five games. That means, barring injury, he could set the mark as soon as next week.
