Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James needs 63 points to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the NBA‘s all-time regular-season scoring record (38,387 points).
James previously broke the record for most total points — regular season and playoffs — in February 2022, and on Jan. 16, he became just the second player in NBA history to score 38,000 career points.
James is projected to break the record in the next three games. That means, barring injury, he could set the mark as soon as next week.Â
He has been upgraded to available for Saturday’s game against New Orleans after being questionable earlier this week due to left ankle soreness. Headed into Saturday, James is averaging 30.1 points per game so far this season.
