Already champion, Palmeiras faces Cuiabá that fights to escape relegation

Cuiabá and Palmeiras face each other this Sunday, at 18:30 (Brasília time; 17:30 MT), at Arena Pantanal, for the 36th round of the Brazilian Championship.

The game brings together two teams in very different situations in the competition. While Verdão secured the title early in the last round, Dourado struggled to escape relegation. The tine scored two consecutive victories by beating Avaí and Botafogo and took a breath in the fight for permanence in Serie A, which could happen in this round.

With the exception of Uendel, out of the season due to a knee injury, António Oliveira has all the players available and can repeat the lineup for the first time since taking office. António tried to keep the team from the victory over Botafogo, but he has two doubts. Rafael Gava and Camilo fight for a spot in the middle, while André Luís and Felipe Marques fight for a place in the attack.

The Cuiabá team comes from a 2-0 victory against Botafogo, playing away from home in the last round of the Brazilian Championship, and is now looking for another victory, which can confirm the team’s presence in the elite of the Brasileirão for more a season. The team doesn’t play as well as home, and has the 4th worst campaign at home, with just five wins in 17 matches as home team.

Palmeiras enters the field to fulfill the table, since the conquest of the Brasileirão came in advance. Even with the speech of maintaining concentration in the remaining rounds of the Brasileirão, coach Abel Ferreira will be forced to make changes in the starting lineup. There will be two midfield (Zé Rafael and Gustavo Scarpa are suspended), one in defense (Piquerez was preserved) and one in attack (Endrick was also preserved). Champion on Wednesday, the alviverde cast only trained on Friday and Saturday before the trip to Cuiabá.

Verdão is not intimidated playing away from home, and has the best campaign as a visitor in the Brazilian Championship, being the only unbeaten away from home, with 10 wins and seven draws.
