Daniel Alves, Santos and Diego Carlos are the players over 24 years old
This Thursday, the coach of the Brazilian Olympic team, André Jardine, summoned the 18 names it will take to the Tokyo Olympics between July and August. The team’s preparation begins on July 1st, at the Academia de Futebol, at the Palmeiras training center. Afterwards, the delegation travels to Doha, Qatar, and travels to Japan on July 15th.
Veteran Daniel Alves, 38, from São Paulo, is on the list. He is recovering from a knee injury that took him out of the Copa América. Besides him, Jardine also named defender Diego Carlos, 28, from Sevilla, and goalkeeper Santos, 31, from Atlético-PR, among the players with more than 24 years on the list.
The debut will be on July 22, against Germany, in Yokohama. Three days later, on July 25th, a team from Canary Islands picks up Ivory Coast, again in Yokohama. The group stage will close against Saudi Arabia on July 28 in Saitama. Brazil is in group D of the competition, alongside Germany, Ivory Coast and Saudi Arabia.
