With Galo winning the Brazilian Nationals and the Copa do Brasil, the regulation ends that the second place in the Brasileirão will be the team to dispute the title
The first national title of 2022 already has a defined day and candidates. Atlético-MG and Flamengo will face each other on February 20 for the Supercopa do Brasil, in a single game. The venue for the duel is yet to be announced by the CBF. In the two past editions, the match was at Mané Garrincha, in Brasília.
The Super Cup puts the champion of the Brasileirão and the winner of the Copa do Brasil face to face. As Atlético raised the two cups, the regulation foresees that the vice-president of the Brasileirão, in the case of Flamengo, gets the vacancy.
Since the Supercopa was once again placed on the Brazilian football calendar, Flamengo was the only team that won the title. In 2020, he defeated Athletico-PR. In 2021, it beat Palmeiras, earning R$ 5 million for the title. The paulistas were left with R$ 2 million.
