Atlético-MG debuts in the second phase of the Libertadores against Carabobo

Atlético-MG takes the field this Wednesday to face Carabobo, at the UCV Olympic Stadium, in Caracas, Venezuela, at 21:30 (Brasília time). The game is valid for the first leg of the second phase of the Copa Libertadores.

The match will count on the video referee (VAR). Conmebol decided to use the technology in all Copa Libertadores and Sudamericana games, including also in the playoffs prior to the group stage. Until last year, both competitions used VAR only from the round of 16 onwards.

Atlético is motivated by the campaign in the Campeonato Mineiro, after the victory over Patrocinense, last weekend. Coach Eduardo Coudet preserved the starters in the match, thinking about the Libertadores debut.

The Venezuelan team never made it to the Libertadores group stage. The team also starts the campaign after winning. The last match of the Venezuelan team was on February 12, when they defeated Zamora, by 3-0.

Deals and Bets

Bet 1: For Atlético-MG to win the match – 1.50

Libertadores reached its 2nd qualifying round and it was Atlético-MG’s turn to seek its place in the group stage. Despite playing away from home, the technical level of Galo is much higher than that of Carabobo, and it is a good guess to believe in an Alvinegra victory against the Venezuelan club.

Bet 2: For Atlético-MG to score two goals – 1.61

To guarantee a good advantage in the first leg, Atlético-MG must take advantage of the fact that Carabobo will try to build a result playing at home and should be able to stand out, scoring goals in Venezuelan lands. Therefore, it is a good guess that Galo will score at least two goals in the match.

Bet 3: +9.5 corners in the match – 1.72

The way Carabobo and Atlético-MG should play in next Wednesday’s duel means that there is a tendency for corner kicks, as both teams make use of offensive attacks on the sides of the field, which leads to corner shots. Therefore, it is a considerable guess to believe that the match will have at least ten corners scored.
