Brazil and Mexico face off in the semifinal of the Tokyo Olympics

Teams starred in the final of the London 2012 Olympic Games, when Mexicans got the better of it and called it gold

The Brazilian soccer team continues to strive for the Olympic bi-championship. Brazil will face Mexico, this Tuesday, at 5:00 am (Brasilia time), at 5:00 pm local time, at Kashima Stadium, in the homonymous city.

For the duel, coach André Jardine still doesn’t know if he can count on Matheus Cunha, scorer of the goal that classified Brazil into a semifinal. The attacker is still undergoing intensive treatment for the muscle contracture in the left thigh. If he doesn’t recover in time, Paulinho or Malcom will fight for the position.

On the other hand, Mexico has been surprising. The team owns the best attack of the Olympic Games, with 14 goals scored. Unlike Brazil, the weather doesn’t have stars, but it proved to be a versatile team with multiple injuries. Jorge Sanchez, suspended, placed to Jesus Angulo, while Erick Aguirre is treated as doubt.

The teams faced each other in the men’s football final in London-2012, when the Mexicans got the better of them and beat the Brazilians 2-1.
