Brazil beat Saudi Arabia 3-1 and ranks first in Group D

Richarlison scored twice in victory and isolated himself in the artillery with five goals

The Brazilian Olympic team had more work than expected to beat the already eliminated Saudi Arabia, in the last round of the group stage of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The 3-1 triumph at Saitama Stadium guaranteed Brazil the lead in Group D , with seven points earned, and rated for the quarterfinals. Besides Brazil, Côte d’Ivoire was the other team that advanced through Group D. The Africans are in second place, with five points. Already, Germany, Olympic runner-up, joined Saudi Arabia and said goodbye to the Olympics.

Matheus Cunha opened the scoring after 13 minutes with the ball rolling. Al-Amiri drew for Saudi Arabia still in the initial stage. On the way back from half-time, as André Jardine’s changes took effect and made Richarlison shine by scoring twice. The forward reached five goals in the competition and reached the isolated artillery.

The quarterfinal match of the Olympics will be on Saturday (31), at 7am, again in Saitama, against Egypt, which finished second in Group C.
