Brazil face Tunisia in the last friendly before the World Cup

The Brazilian team will play its last match before the World Cup on Tuesday. The opponent will be Tunisia, in a friendly played at the Parque dos Príncipes stadium, in Paris, France, at 15:30 (Brasilia time).

Buoyed by the 3-0 win over Ghana last Friday and a 14-match unbeaten streak, the Seleção has the final opportunity to make adjustments and observations before closing the squad for the World Cup in Qatar.

Holders for a good part of this Cup cycle, right-back Danilo and midfielder Fred will return to Tite’s team for today’s match. They replace Éder Militão and Vini Júnior, who started the match against Ghana. With these changes, Lucas Paquetá will play on the left side of the field instead of staying in the center.

In the second half Tite is expected to give a chance to some reserves. Of the 24 players called up for that FIFA date, 16 played. Those who have not yet entered the field were full-backs Danilo and Renan Lodi, defender Ibañez, midfielder Fred and forwards Pedro and Roberto Firmino. Bruno Guimarães, injured, was released to return to Newcastle.

Unbeaten and without conceding a goal since taking office, for seven matches in January, coach Jalel Kadri will face Brazil with the toughest opponent he has faced so far. By the defensive organization, the “Eagles”, as the Tunisian team is known, are nicknamed “Italians of Africa”.

For this match, the Tunisian press is betting on a lineup that has been significantly modified in relation to the last games. Midfielder Aïssa Laïdouni, who plays for Ferencváros, from Hungary, and striker Youssef Msakni, from Al-Duhail, from the United Arab Emirates, are some of the names to keep an eye on.

Brazil and Tunisia faced each other only once and won, with the victory of the Canarian national team by 4 to 1, in a friendly on June 6, 1973, at El Menzah Stadium, in the city of Tunis. Paulo Cézar Caju (2), Valdomiro and Leivinha scored the goals for the national team, and Mouhieddine Habita scored.
