Brazil is without a 0-0 draw with Côte d’Ivoire

Steering wheel Douglas Luiz is sent off early in the game and Brazil holds the result

After thrashing Germany in the men’s football debut at the Tokyo Olympics, a Brazilian team did not come out of a 0-0 draw with Côte d’Ivoire this Sunday morning at Yokohama International Stadium. The two are left with four points in Group D, but Brazil lead by a two-to-one goal difference.

Brazil played one down for more than 75 minutes. Douglas Luiz defaults red card early in the game in a controversial move. Despite the numerical superiority of Côte d’Ivoire on the field, a current Olympic champion managed to balance possession, took some scares and had chances to score. The Africans also had Kouassi sent off, at 34 of the second stage, which created a balance in the game.

Now, the third round that decides everything will be on Wednesday (28), at 5:00 am (GMT). Brazil face Saudi Arabia in Saitama, while Côte d’Ivoire face Germany in Miyagi.
