Bruno Henrique shines once again and Flamengo is in the Libertadores final

As in the first match, the forward scores twice in the victory of the red team by 2-0 over Barcelona

Flamengo is in the final of the Libertadores da América 2021. At the Monumental Stadium, the red team beat Barcelona de Guayaquil 2-0 and stamped their passport for decision. Now the team will face Palmeiras in the grand final, which will be held on November 27, in Montevideo.

Right at the beginning of the game, a scare for the fans of the Rio de Janeiro club. Defender David Luiz needs to be replaced after feeling pain. But things straightened out and Bruno Henrique, who had already scored twice in the first leg, returned to shine with his red and black shirt. The striker scored two beautiful goals after a great assist from Everton Ribeiro.

The 2-0 victory over Barcelona made Flamengo reach 17 games without losing in the Libertadores, the biggest streak in the history of the competition, alongside Sporting Cristal, from Peru, in the 1960s. Of Flamengo’s 17 unbeaten matches, there are 12 wins and five draws. In the first game of the semifinal, Flamengo had already equaled the longest undefeated streak of a Brazilian – a mark belonged to Corinthians, between 2012 and 2013.

Coach Renato Gaúcho also achieved an important milestone. The coach became the coach with the highest number of victories in Libertadores history: 50, one more than Colombia’s Gabriel Uribe. Before Flamengo, Renato led Fluminense and Grêmio, and also led them to the decision twice.
