Champion team of the tournament will take home R $ 73.6 million
This morning’s raffle at CBF headquarters in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, defined the next duels valid for the third phase of the Copa do Brasil. The competition will award the champion an amount of R $ 73.6 million, confirming the tournament as the highest paid in the country.
In this new stage of the Copa do Brasil 12 new teams entered: the eight classified for the Libertadores (Atlético-MG, Grêmio, Flamengo, Fluminense, Internacional, Palmeiras, Santos and São Paulo), the ninth place of the Brasileirão (Athletico-PR), and the champions of Serie B (Chapecoense), Copa do Nordeste (Ceará) and Copa Verde (Brasiliense).
Among the winners, the highlight goes to the regional classic between Ceará and Fortaleza. In addition to the classic, the draw also put Serie A teams up against each other at this stage of the competition. Cases of Fluminense x RB Bragantino and Cortinthians x Atlético-GO. There is still no date for the clashes. Whoever advances, qualifies for the octaves that will also have the confrontations defined through a draw.
