Blues reach third Champions League decision nine years after winning first and only
Chelsea and Manchester City will make the 20/21 Champions League final. Playing at the Stamford Bridge in London, the team beat Real Madrid 2-0 and secured their place in the tournament’s decision for the third time in the club’s history. The goals were scored by Werner, on the 27th of the first half, and Mount on the 39th of the second stage. As the first leg had ended in a 1-1 draw, the victory was more than enough for the English.
Led by coach Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea again demonstrated great tactical organization, something that has been constant in the coach’s work. The team once again showed great defensive security. With yesterday’s match, Tuchel reached 24 games ahead of the London club and has not been leaked in 18 of them.
In the Champions League final for the third time, the Blues return to the decision nine years after winning the League’s only title against Bayer Munich. The final against City will be held on May 29 at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.
