The 3-3 draw marked the opening of the tournament phase.
An electrifying match with six goals started the new Copa do Brasil phase. With goals from David, Tinga, and Gabriel, Fortaleza could not secure the initial victory, playing with less than two players at the end of the match. For the São Paulo side, Brenner (twice, once in overtime) and Luciano rocked the nets.
The return match is scheduled for October 25 (Sunday), at 8:30 pm, at Morumbi There is no “goal away from home” as a tiebreaker criterion. A simple draw takes the match to penalties.
Recalling that the competition rewards the winner by 54 million reais. Depending on the stage they joined, the value can exceed 72 million. América-MG, Atlético-GO, Botafogo, Ceará, and Juventude are the ones that can reach this value.
