Grêmio and São Luiz decide Recopa Gaúcha

Grêmio and São Luiz take the field this Tuesday night, at 7:30 pm (Brasília time), at the Arena, in Porto Alegre, for the Recopa Gaúcha 2023 decision.

After more than a month of pre-season, Tricolor enters the field for the first official test of the year. With the exception of Cristaldo and João Pedro, the club managed to regularize most of the reinforcements in the Daily Newsletter (BID) and the biggest expectation is to see Suárez on the field. With a reformulated cast, it will be the first show by the team led by Renato Portaluppi.

Compared to the team that ended last year’s Série B, Grêmio goes into the debut full of changes. With 10 reinforcements announced, eight are fit to play and can make their debut today with the tricolor shirt. The main doubt is in the midfield, but Renato should adopt the 4-2-3-1 scheme, with two speed players on the sides. Geromel is missing, as he suffered an injury to his left knee and underwent arthroscopy.

São Luiz, a club from the city of Ijuí, will make the first match of the season with a mix between remaining and contract players. The tendency is for coach William Campos to promote as main novelties the entries of goalkeeper Gabriel Félix and center forward Ederson in the starting eleven. On the other hand, Rubro may have a casualty since defender Ricardo Thalheimer is doubtful after suffering a blow to his right ankle.

Recent retrospect between Grêmio x São Luiz

In the last six games between them, we had four wins by Grêmio, all at home, and two draws, both in Ijuí. Last year, Tricolor thrashed São Luiz 4-0.

Match predictions and predictions

Both teams score (no)

Playing at home and technically superior, Grêmio must have ample control of the game. Therefore, the most likely scenario is a safe performance and with a greater possibility of goals for only one of the teams.

More than 1.5 goals

With technical quality far superior to its opponent, Grêmio should present a large number of opportunities and, consequently, its goal potential is relatively high. So this is another good guess within the gaming market.

For Grêmio to have more corners

With greater possession of the ball and technically superior, Grêmio should have a higher rate of finalizations. Consequently, also due to the interiority of the opponent, the tricolor must have a greater number of corners in the game.
