Duel will put Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes face to face
The NFL met this weekend the two finalists who will fight for the Super Bowl LV title: Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The decision will be made on February 7, at Raymond James Stadium, in Tampa Bay, Florida. For the first time in league history, a team will play the Super Bowl at the stadium itself.
The confrontation will have two of the biggest names in American sport today: Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes, at the meeting of generations. This will be the fifth encounter between Mahomes and Brady and so far the score is tied. Tom Brady won the first two games, still wearing the New England Patriots jersey, the second of which was the AFC final in 2019, at his opponent’s home. Mahomes won the next two meetings, the “third round” at Gillette Stadium, home of the Patriots, and the fourth in Tampa, this season when he had a memorable 462 yards and three touchdown passes in the 27-24 win over the Bucs.
43-year-old veteran quarterback and multi-champion Tom Brady reaches the tenth Super Bowl final, with six wins and three losses. Patrick Mahomes, 25, and the main name of the league after Brady’s generation, comes to the second decision. It’s been four years in the Chiefs and since he took over the team, he has put the team in three finals in a row in a row and two in the Super Bowl. The Chiefs go in search of their first double title of the Super Bowl, something that hasn’t happened since the New England Patriots between 2004 and 2005, under Brady.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers were the first team to qualify, beating the Green Bay Packers 31-26, taking the NFC title. On the other side, the Kansas City Chiefs beat Buffalo Bills 28-24 and lifted the AFC trophy.
