Libertadores reaches the last day of the group stage round with Flamengo and Palmeiras on the field

With guaranteed leadership, Verdão tries to be the second best campaign of the group stage; while Rubro-negro plays for a tie to pass first

Flamengo and Vélez Sarsfield (ARG) will face each other this Thursday, at Maracanã, at 9 pm (Brasília time), for the last round of the Libertadores group stage. Both times are already classified in the eighth of the final of the competition and fight for the first place of Group G, with the red-black, being able to even tie to consolidate in the leadership. The red-black time has 11 points, while Velez has nine points. LDU, from Ecuador, with five points, and Unión La Calera (CHI), with two, complete the group.

For the game, Rogério Ceni will not be able to count on two recent regulars, Willian Arão and Bruno Henrique, both suspended. On the other hand, goalkeeper Diego Alves is again related and is available to the coach. Rodrigo Caio, creator of a Bruno Viana company in defense. And in the attack, Gabigol would pair with Pedro.

The Argentine team goes with maximum strength to try to take the first place of Group G., since only the victory matters to the visitors. Luca Orellano and Ricky Álvarez are the absences.

For group A, Palmeiras receives the University Student (PER), at Allianz Arena at 19h (Brasília time). With 12 points, Verdão has the classification and the first place guaranteed. Peruvians, on the other hand, have four points and have no more chances, but still have a chance to get a spot in the Copa Sudamericana. For that to happen, they need to win or draw with Palmeiras and hope for the defeat of Independiente del Valle (EQU) against Defensa y Justicia (ARG), on the same day and time, in Argentina.

Palmeiras is going full strength for the match. With the victory, the team can reach 15 points and be the second best of the group’s key of the competition, losing only to Atlético-MG. Renan (trauma to the left knee), Gabriel Veron (injury to the left thigh), Breno Lopes (injury to the right knee), Kuscevic (injury to the right thigh) and Marcos Rocha (injury to the left thigh), are out of the game today.

Without absences, the University student goes with everything that is best to achieve a classification for South American.
