Manchester City beat Borussia 2-1 and decision remains the return game

The British score in the 45th minute and now play for a draw

Manchester City’s season has been overwhelming. Isolated leader in the Premier League and with impeccable performances in the Champions League, the team found against Borussia perhaps the most difficult challenge so far. The 2-1 victory is far from bad news, but it leaves the spot wide open for the return game, next Wednesday, the 14th, in Dortmund.

De Bruyne, elected star of the match, opened the scoring for the English. At the end of the second half, Reus left everything the same. But at 45, Folden put the English ahead again and took victory. Now City will play for any tie to qualify. The team led by Pep Guardiola tries to reach the second semifinal of the club’s history (the first and only happened in 2015/16). Borussia, on the other hand, will keep the spot if they win 1-0 or by any score by more than two goals difference. If the result of the first game is repeated in favor of the Germans, the game will go to extra time or penalty, if necessary. If Borussia wins the game by the minimum score but with City scoring two or more goals, the classification will be with the English.
