The NBA trade season is upon us, and the rumor mill is roaring.

From now until Thursday’s trade deadline, we’re tracking the most notable rumors from the league’s most trusted sources.

FEBRUARY 8

Lakers engaged in three-team trade

The Los Angeles Lakers are engaged in a three-team trade with the Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves that would land them D’Angelo Russell for Russell Westbrook and draft compensation, according to multiple reports. Mike Conley Jr., Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt have also been discussed in the deal.

Boston wants a center

The Boston Celtics want to strengthen their center position and are willing to part with Danilo Gallinari and Payton Pritchard to do it, according to a report from Yahoo Sports. Gallinari underwent surgery in September to repair a torn ACL.

76ers going big

According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, the 76ers have interest in Utah‘s Jarred Vanderbilt and Detroit‘s Nerlens Noel. Vanderbilt has started 41 games for Utah this season, while Noel has appeared in just 13 games for Detroit due to a foot injury. Either player would presumably back up star center Joel Embiid.

76ers moving former first-rounder?

According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, the 76ers will likely move wing Matisse Thybulle before the trade deadline. Thybulle’s role has been drastically reduced this season, as he’s playing just 12.1 minutes per contest.

Knicks have a hungry Hart?

HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto and SNY reported that New York is interested in acquiring guard Josh Hart from the Portland Trail Blazers. Hart is averaging 9.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, and has started 51 games for Portland this season.

Interest in Rockets wings

The Athletic reported that teams are expressing interest in acquiring Eric Gordon and Jae’Sean Tate from the Rockets. The report notes that the Los Angeles Clippers and Phoenix Suns have inquired about Gordon, while the Suns, Denver Nuggets, Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards have inquired about Tate.

Gordon is averaging 13.2 points per game as a starter and has a $19.6 million salary for this season. On the other hand, Tate recently returned from an ankle injury, which sidelined him for two months. Tate has primarily come off Houston’s bench.

Bones Hyland trade suitors emerge

With Denver open to moving Hyland, The Denver Post reported that the Toronto Raptors, New Orleans Pelicans and Minnesota Timberwolves are among the teams interested in acquiring the second-year guard. Hyland is averaging 12.1 points per game off the Nuggets bench.

FEBRUARY 7

Warriors open to moving youth

The Athletic reported that Golden State is open to moving some of its younger players who are out of the rotation for a veteran upgrade. Candidates to be moved include big man James Wiseman and wing Moses Moody.

Bucks like Derrick Rose

NBA reporter Marc Stein noted that Milwaukee has expressed interest in acquiring the veteran guard from New York. Rose, who’s making $14.5 million this season, has been out of the Knicks rotation and hasn’t appeared in a game since December.

Kings closing in on Kessler Edwards

The Sacramento Kings are in the process of acquiring Nets forward Kessler Edwards, per The Athletic. The 6-foot-7 forward from Pepperdine has appeared in just 14 games this season, and is averaging 1.1 PPG. He was much more active during his rookie season, playing in 48 contests and putting up 5.9 points a night on 41% shooting.

Nets standing pat on Kevin Durant

Unsurprisingly, a number of teams have contacted Brooklyn regarding a deal involving their superstar, but Brooklyn has reportedly informed Durant’s hopeful suitors that they weren’t planning to make him available before Thursday.

Despite dealing star guard Kyrie Irving on Sunday, the Nets are still adamantly in search of a championship ring, and see Durant as an integral piece to that pursuit this season. Durant and Brooklyn’s brass are currently in “ongoing conversations” surrounding the franchise’s direction, per several sources.

Dewayne Dedmon returns to Spurs

The Miami Heat have traded center Dewayne Dedmon and a second-round pick to the San Antonio Spurs, per The Athletic. Miami’s return in the deal has not yet been specified.

Dedmon is averaging 5.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game through 30 games this season. He’s played 11.7 minutes per game. The deal reunites the nine-year vet with his former coach Gregg Popovich, for whom he started 37 games (he appeared in a career-high 76) during the 2016-17 campaign.

FEBRUARY 6

Nets interested in Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam

Brooklyn is apparently aiming to make the Kyrie Irving trade larger by moving Spencer Dinwiddie, who the Nets are expected to receive from Dallas in the trade, to Toronto for VanVleet, per multiple reports. The Nets would also send draft capital as part of a potential trade for VanVleet.

VanVleet isn’t the only Raptors star the Nets are interested in. Brooklyn has also expressed interest in forward Pascal Siakam, but Toronto is reluctant to trade him, Marc Stein reported.

Heat open to trading Kyle Lowry

Miami has changed its mind about a potential Lowry trade. After the Heat were said to have no interest in moving the veteran point guard ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline, they’re making Lowry available, the Miami Herald reported Monday. Multiple teams, including the Clippers, have shown interest in Lowry, as he’s one of “several” Heat players that could be traded, the Miami Herald added.

Wizards not interested in trading Bradley Beal, Kyle Kuzma

Washington plans to keep a pair of its top players past the trade deadline, as it has no plans to trade Beal or Kuzma, The Athletic reported. Beal re-signed with the Wizards on a five-year deal over the offseason and has a no-trade clause, while Kuzma is expected to opt out of his contract at the end of the season.

Bulls not trading Zach LaVine, but might trade another veteran guard

Chicago has shown little interest in trading LaVine but is listening to offers for Alex Caruso, ESPN reported. While Caruso has drawn interest from other teams, the Bulls “would have to be blown away” to trade him. Meanwhile, the Mavericks, Lakers and Knicks were among the teams that have shown interest in LaVine, ESPN added.

Christian Wood among other players Mavs might trade

Dallas appears to still be in the market to make another trade ahead of the deadline. Wood has been a “frequently discussed candidate” for the Mavericks to trade, according to the Dallas Morning News. Wood’s had a strong first season in Dallas, scoring 18.4 points per game, but will be a free agent at season’s end.

Shooting guard Tim Hardaway Jr. has also been discussed as a potential player on the move, the Dallas Morning News added.

Jarred Vanderbilt most likely Jazz player to be traded

Several players on the Jazz have been at the center of trade talks as the team has had at least one trade call with every team, but Vanderbilt is viewed as the most likely player to be traded, according to The Athletic. A Western Conference team has shown interest in veteran point guard Mike Conley, though Utah has little interest in trading him. Malik Beasley, Jordan Clarkson and Kelly Olynyk have also drawn interest on the trade market, The Athletic added.

FEBRUARY 5

Celtics, Suns to pursue Kevin Durant?

With Kyrie Irving on his way out of Brooklyn, Phoenix is prepared to pursue Durant if he becomes available for a trade, per Bleacher Report. Elsewhere, reports have emerged that Durant is “on the verge of potentially being moved” and that “Boston is making some calls.”

Mavs land Irving

Soon after requesting a trade out of Brooklyn on Feb. 3 after talks on a possible contract extension with the Nets broke down, Irving landed in Dallas, which beat out the Lakers and the Clippers for the star point guard. In exchange, the Nets will receive Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, an unprotected 2029 first-round draft pick and two future second-round picks. Irving will now join his fourth team in seven seasons.

A potential deal with the Lakers didn’t pan out because L.A. reportedly wanted to offer Irving a lucrative two-year deal, while Irving wanted a four-year max deal or wanted to wait until he became a free agent this summer, per The Athletic

FEBRUARY 2

OG Anunoby drawing interest from the Knicks, Suns, Pelicans and Pacers

The Raptors wing might be the top prize ahead of the NBA trade deadline as New York, Phoenix, New Orleans and Indiana are among the top candidate to acquire Anunoby, The Athletic reported. The Memphis Grizzlies and the Pelicans are trying to “box each other out’ in their pursuits for Anunoby, per Bleacher Report.

Lakers, Heat, Knicks and Mavs interested in Zach LaVine

Multiple organizations are reportedly big fans of Chicago Bulls All-Star LaVine, per ESPN. The 27-year-old guard signed a five-year, $215 million max contract extension with the Bulls in July 2022 and is in the recovery process from offseason arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.

Raptors making every player available for trade, except for Scottie Barnes

The underachieving Toronto squad appears ready to make a major change as nearly every player on its roster is available ahead of the trade deadline except for the reigning Rookie of the Year, per TSN. Gary Trent Jr. is “likeliest” to be traded.

Blazers emerge as a strong suitor for Jarred Vanderbilt

A few teams are interested in the Jazz forward, whose chances of being traded prior to Thursday’s deadline are “increasing,” The Athletic reported.

FEBRUARY 1

Matisse Thybulle made available

Thybulle is no longer untouchable and the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings are among the team that expressed interest in him, per The Philadelphia Inquirer. The two-time All-Defensive second-teamer has averaged career-lows in minutes, points, steals and field goal percentage this season.

Raptors set price for Gary Trent Jr.

The Raptors are willing to part with Trent for “a protected first-round or two good second-round picks,” according to a report from Sportsnet. He can decline his player option and become a free agent in the summer.

JANUARY 30

Nuggets moving Bones Hyland?

The Nuggets are in “active trade conversations” with NBA teams — including the Timberwolves — about Hyland, per The Athletic. The second-year guard is averaging 12.3 points per game and shooting 37.9% from behind the arc as a reserve this season, and has served as the Nuggets’ scoring punch off the bench.

Bucks make offer for Jae Crowder

Milwaukee has offered Jordan Nwora, George Hill, Serge Ibaka and second-rounders to the Suns for Crowder, who hasn’t appeared in a game this season, per The Athletic. Last season, Crowder averaged 9.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 39.9/34.8/78.9.

Utah wants picks

Utah is seeking a first-rounder in a trade for wing Malik Beasley or forward Jarred Vanderbilt, per HoopsHype. The Jazz acquired Beasley and Vanderbilt as part of their return from the Timberwolves for center Rudy Gobert in the offseason.

OG Anunoby drawing a crowd?

The Knicks and the Suns are among the teams interested in acquiring Anunoby from the Raptors, per The Athletic. Both The Athletic and SNY reported that New York is willing to trade multiple first-rounders for Anunoby.

Hornets shopping veterans

Charlotte is “discussing” trades involving big man Mason Plumlee and forward Kelly Oubre Jr., per The Athletic. Both players are unrestricted free agents after this season.

JANUARY 29

Alex Caruso seemingly untouchable

The Bulls’ asking price for Caruso has been “so astronomical” that he’s essentially “untouchable” in trade talks, per the Chicago Sun-Times.

Kyle Kuzma staying in Washington?

Despite teams looking to acquire Kuzma from the Wizards, who are the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference, NBA writer Marc Stein noted that Washington intends to hold onto the forward through this season.

Timberwolves shopping D’Angelo Russell

Minnesota is believed to “look to move” the 26-year-old point guard before the trade deadline, per Bleacher Report.

OG Anunoby wants out?

Anunoby “isn’t happy” in Toronto, according to FOX Sports’ Ric Bucher. Whether the Raptors trade him or not figures to be one of the keys to the trade deadline.

Rockets want John Collins

The Atlanta Hawks have explored a potential trade for Collins with Houston, which has real interest in acquiring the 25-year-old forward, per The Athletic.

Previously, the Jazz, the Suns and the Hawks had reportedly discussed a three-team deal that would have sent Hawks forward Collins to Utah, but that deal fell apart due to a disagreement with draft compensation — the Hawks wanted multiple first-round picks for Collins. In the proposed deal, the Suns would have received Beasley and Vanderbilt, and the Hawks would have received Crowder and other players to make the salaries work.

JANUARY 27

Multiple teams want Cam Reddish

The Mavs have joined the Bucks and Lakers as teams that are interested in acquiring Reddish from the Knicks, according to NBA writer Marc Stein. Stein noted that the Knicks seek a second-round draft pick for Reddish and are “angling” to acquire Reggie Bullock from the Mavericks. Bullock played for the Knicks in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. Reddish, 23, has appeared in just 20 games this season.

JANUARY 25

Luka Dončić wants to see upgrades

Dallas superstar Dončić is hoping that the Mavericks can make a move to upgrade their roster before the trade deadline, per ESPN. “Sources said Dončić, who hasn’t shown a desire to be involved in personnel matters in the past, has strongly indicated he wants the Mavs to upgrade before the Feb. 9 trade deadline,” ESPN’s Tim MacMahon wrote.

Wolves, Clippers want Mike Conley Jr.

Conley is in the crosshairs off both the Timberwolves and Clippers, per The Athletic. The Clippers are reportedly willing to part ways with John Wall in hopes of landing Conley.

Spurs want haul for Jakob Poeltl

Two first-round picks for Poeltl? That’s San Antonio’s asking price for the 27-year-old big man, per The Athletic.

JANUARY 23

Lakers pick up Rui Hachimura from Wizards

Los Angeles is beefing up its frontcourt, reportedly bringing in the 24-year-old Hachimura from Washington. In exchange, the Lakers will send the Wizards guard Kendrick Nunn and multiple second-round picks, per The Athletic.

Hachimura spent four seasons with the Wizards after being the No. 9 pick overall out of Gonzaga. He is a restricted free agent this summer, and the Lakers intend to sign him to an extension, ESPN previously reported.

Raptors eyeing young big men, wing

In addition to Poeltl, Toronto is keeping tabs on Phoenix’s Deandre Ayton, per Yahoo Sports. Ayton has been scuffling with the Suns and coach Monty Williams dating back to last season, and Turner has been the subject of trade rumors for well over a year.

Teams want Pistons’ pieces

Miami, Denver and Dallas are looking to land Detroit’s Nerlens Noel, per The Athletic. In addition, teams are reportedly beginning to kick the tires on Pistons wing Saadiq Bey. The 23-year-old had a breakout campaign last season, but was moved to a reserve role in November of this season.

Cavs interested in Bojan Bogdanović

The Cavaliers are “suitors” for Pistons forward Bogdanović, per Yahoo Sports. The Pistons’ price for Bogdanović is set at a first-round pick and a young player with upside.

Gary Trent Jr. is available

Raptors guard Trent is reportedly available, though it’s unclear what it would cost to get him. He signed a three-year, $54 million contract with the Raptors in 2021 and has a player option for the 2023-24 season.

The Raptors would be interested in acquiring Charlotte‘s Jalen McDaniels, per Yahoo Sports.

LATE DECEMBER

DeMar DeRozan staying put?

DeRozan took to social media to discredit claims that he has requested a trade and wants out of Chicago. The 33-year-old is averaging 26.3 points, five rebounds and 4.9 assists on 50.8% shooting this season, as of Friday, Jan. 27.

A family affair for Trae Young

Young reportedly got into a spat with head coach Nate McMillan that resulted in the 24-year-old getting benched, leading to rumors that the two-time All-Star wanted out of Atlanta and that he’s on the brink of demanding a trade. That isn’t the case, according to Young’s father, who said, “Trae doesn’t talk to other teams. He’s busy trying to win in Atlanta.”

Interest in Buddy Hield growing

Rival teams have expressed interest in the Pacers shooting guard this season, per The Athletic. Hield, 30, has been averaging 17.6 points and 4.9 rebounds, while shooting 42.4% from distance this season, as of Friday, Jan. 27.

Lakers want to keep Russell Westbrook?

A Westbrook trade is “increasingly unlikely” due to his recent uptick in production, per The Athletic. Earlier this season, Westbrook was the only reserve in the league averaging at least 10 points, five rebounds and five assists.

Lakers still superstar hunting

In a perfect world, if the likes of Durant, Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal became available, the Lakers — like nearly every other team in the league — would aim to land one of the superstars, per The Athletic.

Arguably a more realistic idea would be what sportswriter Zach Lowe discussed on his “The Lowe Post” podcast, saying that the Lakers have had “internal discussions” about landing DeRozan or Nikola Vucevic from Chicago.

Knicks having fire sale

The Knicks have made Derrick Rose, Evan Fournier, Reddish and Immanuel Quickley available in trade talks, per Yahoo Sports. The Lakers were mentioned as a team that has been involved in discussions for both Fournier and Reddish, who is represented by Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, which also represents Lakers superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Sixers dangling Tobias Harris

In what feels like an annual NBA trade deadline tradition at this point, the 76ers have discussed Harris with rival teams, per The Athletic. Harris, who signed a five-year, $180 million contract to remain in Philadelphia in 2019, is owed $36.7 million this season.

What’s up with Crowder?

Crowder continues to sit out as the Suns work to find him a new home. The Bucks nearly acquired the 32-year-old forward, per Bleacher Report, but the deal never crossed the finish line. The Warriors, Heat, Hawks and Lakers are also said to be interested.

Rockets shopping young, veteran pieces

Houston is continuing to do its due diligence on veteran guard Eric Gordon, searching for a pick in exchange for the longtime reserve bucket-getter, per Bleacher Report. The Rockets are also poised to listen to offers for 21-year-old forward Kenyon “KJ” Martin Jr., who would reportedly like a more prominent role in Houston or elsewhere.
