List is the last made by coach André Jardine before the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games
The coach André Jardine announced, this Friday (14), the list of 23 players for the Olympic Selection on the FIFA Date of June. This will be the coach’s final preparation period before the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games dispute.
Among the main news of the call, are the striker Claudinho, from Bragatino and half Gerson, from Flamengo. Claudinho was the name of the Brazilian Championship last year, winning four individual awards at the end of the Brazilian Championship: Revelation, Best Midfielder, Top Scorer and Craque of the Brasileirão. The midfielder Gerson, on the other hand, was also part of the list of the best of the Brasileirão 2020 and had been “charged” by a good part of the press for the summons, either in the Olympic or in the Main. Besides them, the right-back Gabriel Menino, who had already been called twice for the main team, now received the opportunity in the under-23
With the call of four players from the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, between the Olympic and the Main Team, CBF agreed to readjust the club’s matches during the FIFA Date period.
The Olympic Selection will face, at the Tokyo 2020 Games, Germany, Ivory Coast and Saudi Arabia, in the group stage of the competition. The schedule for the June FIFA Date will be revealed as soon as possible. The 23-man squad has 11 athletes who work in Brazil and 12 who defend foreign clubs.
