Palmeiras and Defensa y Justicia decide the South American Recopa

Verdão must count on the return of Luiz Adriano, recovered from Covid-19

Soon, at 9:30 pm, at the Mané Garrincha Stadium, in Brasília, Palmeiras and Defensa y Justicia-ARG compete for the Recopa Sul-Americana cup. It is the last champion of the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana. The teams decide which will be the great South American team of the season.

In the first leg, Verdão won 2-1 and now plays for a draw to win the continental tournament. The Argentines, on the other hand, need a victory by two goals difference to take the cup. In case of equality in the aggregate scores, the game goes to overtime and penalty, if necessary.

Current champion of the Libertadores, the team of Abel Ferreira can win the first title of the season, since he was with the vice of the Super Cup, last Sunday, against Flamengo. The team goes with maximum strength for the duel. Striker Luiz Adriano was reinstated after recovering from Covid-19 and could appear among the starters. Gabriel Menino, who was out of the first game, should also return.

Defensa y Justicia is looking for the second international title in history. At a disadvantage, the team must maintain an offensive stance in today’s match. The performance of the Argentines in the first game has already shown the balance of the confrontation. The main highlights of the teams are strikers Braian Romero and Walter Bou.
