Even with one less good part of the second half, the team holds the victory in the Arena
Palmeiras beat Grêmio 1-0 in the first game of the Copa do Brasil decision, at the Arena, in Porto Alegre. Defender Gustavo Gómez, with his head, was the author of the only goal of the match, after a corner kick. Palmeiras dominated much of the game until the 19th minute of the final stage, when Luan elbowed Digo Souza and was sent off. With one more, Grêmio went up, but was stopped by the defense of the São Paulo team that managed to withstand the pressure.
The next game will be on Sunday (07/03), at 18h, at Allianz Parque, in São Paulo. Palmeiras play for a draw to take the fourth championship of the competition. As there is no qualified goal, the gaucho tricolor takes the decision to penalties with any victory by a goal difference. If he wins by two or more, he takes the sixth championship.
