Palmeiras debut in the World Cup against Al Ahly-EGI

Teams meet again in the tournament. In the last duel, the Egyptian team got the best and eliminated Verdão

In a little while, at 1:30 pm (Brasilia time), Palmeiras debuts in the Club World Cup. The opponent Al Ahly-EGI, who in the first phase beat Monterrey-MEX 1-0 and advanced to the semifinals. The parade will be held at Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

After a bad campaign last year, when they even lost the dispute for third place to the same Egyptian team, Palmeiras de Abel Ferreira believe they have arrived for the tournament in the United Arab Emirates more prepared.

Abel Ferreira is still a mystery about the lineup, but he should use the base he started in Paulistão. Piquerez, who tested positive for Covid-19 before the trip, has already joined the group, but as he missed much of the preparation, he has less chance of starting as a starter. Thus, Murilo would be the option to close the defensive system.

Gabriel Veron and Vinicius Silvestre (tested positive for Covid-19 and were not related), Patrick de Paula, Gabriel Menino, Renan, Giovani and Vanderlan (were not enrolled).

After eliminating the favorite Monterrey-MEX, Al Ahly can earn five reinforcements for the semi-final. Defender Mohamed Abdelmonem, full-back Ayman Ashra, midfielders Hamdi Fathi and Amr Al Sulaya and striker Mohamed Sherif had a chartered flight from Egypt to Abu Dhabi to be available for the World Cup semifinals. However, coach Pitso Mosimane did not guarantee their presence in the team.

Mohamed El-Shenawy, Percy Tau and Akram Tawfik (injured) are the absences of the African team.
