Tiger can lose by up to three goals difference that still wins the title
It was a hit. Faced with a very lacking Remo, due to the Covid-19 outbreak in the squad, Vila Nova did not take notice and applied a 5 to 1 rout over Leão da Amazônia. Remo took the lead with defender Gilberto Alemão, after a corner kick. The joy was short-lived. Talles (twice) and Alan Mireiro, in a beautiful free kick, turned the score in the first half. In the second, it was the gunner Henan’s turn to swing the net two more times.
With the result, the team from Goiás can lose by up to three goals difference next Saturday, in Belém, to keep the cup, which would be the tiger’s third championship in the division (the club won in 1996 and 2015). It is up to Remo to win by four goals difference and take the decision to penalties or strike Vila Nova by the margin of five goals and be champion in regular time. The Pará club has only one title in the C Series that was won in 2005.
Remo will use the week to prepare for the return game and also try to recover part of the squad and the coaching staff, contaminated by Covid. This Saturday, 11 players were unable to enter the field, five of them starting. Technician Paulo Bonamigo and three assistants are also contaminated. Renan Capra, physical trainer, was the one who commanded the team.
