With eyes on the final, Egypt and Cameroon face each other in the African Cup of Nations

Winner of the match faces Senegal in the decision

With a spot in the big decision, Cameroon and Egypt will face each other this Thursday, at 16:00 (Brasília time), for the semi-final of the African Cup of Nations. The hosts are looking to reach the final and repeat the feat achieved in 2017, while the Pharaohs are counting on the talent of Mo Salah to overcome the opponent. Whoever wins faces Senegal in the final.

Although it took a while to get started in the duel against Gambia, Cameroon has been the most consistent among the four that are in the semifinals. In five games, the team won four duels and drew one match.

With no shortages, coach António Oliveira goes with full force for the decisive confrontation. Cameroon has already played in seven African Cup finals and has won five titles.

On the other hand, Egypt has faced stronger opponents than Cameroon and managed to eliminate Ivory Coast and Morocco in the last two knockout stages. Coach Carlos Queiroz counts on the brilliance of Mo Salah, who scored two of the team’s four goals in the tournament, to advance to the final.

Carlos Queiroz does not have Hamdi Fathi, Ahmed Hegazy and Akram Tawfik (injured). The biggest winner of the competition, with seven titles, Egypt is trying to play in the tenth final of the African Cup.
